Asher is going through a phase where he imitates everything we do. From feeding Eva Joy, to following me around the house pretending to vacuum, he’s watching my every move. Asher loves to get his toy lawn mower out and follow Daddy around while he’s mowing the grass. He loves pretending to shave while Daddy is shaving in the mornings. It’s fun to watch him copy us, but oh, how I hope Asher will begin to imitate Leon’s godly characteristics as a young man some day!Lessons from a toddler imitate daddy

Our relationship with God should be like that. We’re called to imitate Christ as He gave Himself up for us. He lived a life of love and sacrifice for us, laying down His life so we may spend an eternity with Him. In the same way we’re called to lay down our lives and selflessly give ourselves to those around us. We’re to give our lives as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God! Now that’s something to imitate. Oh, to learn to imitate Christ in that way.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2 (ESV)
