Well, with everything else that’s going on in our lives, it’s understandable that my birthday would get lost in the shuffle. I celebrated my 30th birthday on the 3rd. It was one birthday that I should have celebrated well, but since I just had a miscarriage, I didn’t feel like I should be celebrating.

A very strange way to celebrate my 30th birthday… Last year I spent my birthday on the couch hoping I would go into labour. This year I spent it on the couch recovering from a miscarriage. God is still good.

It was a low-key day. Leon let me have some much-needed time to myself while he took Asher to church. We planned on a party that afternoon after church, but Leon decided to postpone it because I’d just been discharged from hospital 2 days before that. That was a good decision! We ended up having the party last Saturday. It was good that we decided to postpone because by Saturday I was feeling better and ready to have friends around.

I will have to say that 30 was a good birthday despite how strange it felt. I really enjoyed having my family and a few good friends around, too.
